About Keya

I am Keya Fox — artist, maker, and humble resident of Hawaiʻi for over twenty years.

Since I was little I have loved a good crafting session. Drawing, painting, jewelry making, photography, glassblowing, silversmithing, ceramics, screen printing, sewing, crocheting, sculpting — I have spent much of my life finding new ways to make things by hand. Creating is simply how I move through the world.

I came to Hawaiʻi for college and never left — because the islands have a way of keeping the people who truly belong to them. For years I worked as a substitute teacher in a school rooted in Hawaiian culture and values, an experience that gave me deep reverence for the people, the land, and the spirit of love that lives in everything I make.

I also travel when I can — time spent abroad has always shaped my art in ways I can't fully explain, and wouldn't want to.

Healing and spirituality have always been threads woven through everything I create. But they became something more in 2012, when I was diagnosed with cancer. That experience cracked me open in ways I couldn't have anticipated — and it was then that I was introduced to flower essences, astrology, and a wider world of healing that has never let me go. In over two decades of living surrounded by the extraordinary flora of Maui, that relationship has only deepened. It has become clear to me that this work is an important part of my path — and sharing it with you feels like the natural next step.

A few years ago I stepped back from the hustle to welcome the most important creation of my life: my daughter. Now that she is finding her feet, I am finding mine again too — gathering years of quiet work and finally sharing it.
